A New Approach of e-Learning Education
Using Blogging
By
Veselina Nedeva and Dimitar Nedev
E-learning
refers to anything delivered, enabled, or mediated by electronic technology for
the explicit purpose of learning. The term 'e leaming is often assumed to be
synonymous with learning using interactive self-study materials, but is in fact
a much wider concept, including the online sharing of all sorts of electronic
content and online communication between learners and tutors, as well as the
use of computers to deliver learning content offline using media such as
CD-ROM,
Digital
technologies were a way of life in the 21st century and it was important that
children were prepared for the future by acquiring ICT skills as part of their
education. Asynchronous online tools such as forums and blogs play a major part
in many formal distance learning courses, but can also be used on an ongoing
basis to facilitate discussion and provide support. Since Blogger was launched
in 1999, blogs have reshaped the web, impacted politics, shaken up journalism,
and enabled millions of people to have a voice and connect with others.
A blog is a
website that acts as an online journal, a place to post information, and a way
to keep in touch with others. A blog can be used as an important tool for
networking and sharing tips or news with other teachers, dispersing information
to your students, and keeping parents abreast of what is happening in your
classroom [5]. The readers can comment on the writings, either agreeing or
disagreeing with the author. This is an effective and useful way to share your
ideas, gather tips from others experiences, and mingle with fellow educators
from all over the world. The blog can also be used as a classroom management.
A blog (a
contraction of the term "web log) is a type of a website, usually
maintained by an individual with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of
events, or other material such as graphics or video. Entries are commonly
displayed in reverse- chronological order. "Blog" can also be used as
a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog.
A blog entry optionally
includes the following: Categories (or tags)-subjects that the entry discusses;
Trackback-links to other sites that refer to the entry: A blog site typically
contains a list of links, or blogroll, of other blogs that the blog author reads
or affiliates with.
