The activity of a trader selling obligatory snacks during the month of Ramadan (Takjil) is depicted on Jalan Raya Kresek, Cengkareng, West Jakarta. Not only among the Muslim community who flock to hunt for takjil before breaking the fast, but also come from all areas of life. The offered takjil menu is likewise diverse, including everything from vermicelli and noodles to a variety of fried delicacies, banana compote, and stuffed rice cakes. The price range for all meals is between 2,000 and 10,000 rupiahs.

Mrs. Ririn (50), since 2019 has been selling takjil in front of her house every fasting month. She usually opens her stall from 15.00 WIB to 19.00 WIB. Her chose to trade in front of her house because the location was quite close to the main road so that many people were passing by looking for snacks to break their fast.

In one day of selling, Mrs. Ririn can get a profit of up to Rp. 100,000 or even more if all her meals sold out.

"Well, Alhamdulillah, sure, sometimes it's crowded of buyer, sometimes it's quiet. It's also called selling. I just take blessings from the sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad while looking for additional sustenance," said Mrs. Ririn

Mrs. Ririn gets her wares from people who leave them at her stalls. She only takes a small profit from each item sold. If all of the meals is not sold out, she will return it to the person who entrusted the merchandise or distribute it to neighbors so that it is not mubazir.

Up and Down When Selling Takjil

Even though her product often doesn't run out, it doesn't dampen Ms. Ririn's enthusiasm to keep selling in order to increase her income in the month of Ramadan. Because he believes that the sustenance of each trader has been arranged by the almighty.

When we met her, she also gave tips for other traders to remain patient and consistent and sincere in trading to help the family's economy.

"It's okay if your product is not sold out, just be patient, those who are sincere are still selling consistently," she said.

Furthermore, the middle-aged woman hopes that in the following years she will be given health so that she can still trade takjil to break the fast for the people there, and make this sunnah of the Prophet a form of worship and a field of sustenance in the month of Ramadan.
